ZIM Hip-Hop artist, Ti-Gonzi, says he will always cherish his collaboration with Selmor Mtukudzi titled Wadiwa Mudiwa.

Prior to the death of her father Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi in 2019, the rapper said it was his dream to record something, with the royal family, of Zimbabwean music.

Ti-Gonzi told H-Metro he grew up listening to the music of the late national hero.

“Growing up, I have always wanted to collaborate with Sir Oliver Mtukudzi.

“Then, the other day, I had a dream of collaborating with Selmor.

“After that dream, I decided to approach her in order to fulfil my dream.

“Actually that collaboration was a must do,” he said.

The award-winning rapper said working with Selmor was enjoyable.

“The experience of working with her was great.

“I have always been told how versatile I am by people so I enjoyed it.

“On this one, I had to fuse jazz, Afro pop and sungura,” said Ti-Gonzi.

“The message behind the video is that no matter how anyone may struggle to find love, we have to know that where there is a will there is a way,” he said.

Asked if he learnt anything from Selmor, he said: “I learnt to be professional, no matter the financial constraints.

“Being patient on everything you love is the key to success.

“Selmor is a very busy woman but she is very patient with her work as a musician.”

Meanwhile, Ti-gonzi revealed he is focusing on visuals of the album he released on April 13 this year.

“I dropped my 20-track album on the 13th of April, since then I have been concentrating on visuals.

“So far, I have dropped Pachi Hipu Hopu, Yadeuka Yadeuka, Ndoda Ufare, Photo Album, Ndimutsei and Wadiwa Mudiwa.

“I will be dropping other visuals from the album and, up next, is Kepele featuring Anita Jaxson then the rest will follow,” he added.
