Ti-Gonzi imposter arrested for drug possession and reckless driving

A Harare man who impersonates award-winning musician, Ti-Gonzi, was arrested yesterday for reckless driving and possession of illegal drugs in Mbare, Harare.

Patrick Kauma Tarugarira (29) hails from Hopley. He was apprehended at the intersection of Cripps and Remembrance Roads, near Mupedzanhamo.

Tarugarira was driving without a valid licence when his erratic driving drew the attention of traffic officers.

Upon stopping him, police officers conducted a search of his black Mercedes Benz and found a half-bottle of Benylin cough mixture, two prepared twists of dagga, and two sachets of the drug.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed Tarugarira’s arrest.

“The individual was taken into custody for contravening multiple sections of the Road Traffic Act, Chapter 13:11. These included reckless driving (Section 53), operating a vehicle without a driver’s licence (Section 6), failing to comply with police instructions (Section 72), and possession of illegal drugs.”
