Tiger Woods loses tooth

TIGER Woods lost a tooth after being hit in the face by a camera while watching girlfriend Lindsey Vonn secure her 63rd World Cup Alpine ski win. The former world number one golfer decided to surprise Vonn, who was competing in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.

“During a crush of photographers at the awards’ podium, a media member with a shoulder-mounted video camera pushed and surged towards the stage, turned and hit Tiger Woods in the mouth,” his agent Mark Steinberg said.

“Woods’s tooth was knocked out by the incident.”

Meanwhile, the former world number one says he is “ready to go” before his 2015 season debut at the Phoenix Open.

The 39-year-old 14-time major winner played in only nine tournaments last year because of a back injury.

As well as confirming his place for the start of the Phoenix Open on 26 January, Woods announced that he would play in the following week’s Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.

“I’m ready to go. Should be a lot of fun,” Woods said on Twitter.

Fellow Americans Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth and Bubba Watson are among those who have already committed to playing at the tournament in Arizona. — BBC.
