HERENTALS forward, Tinotenda Benza, is set to receive his Chibuku Super Cup Golden Boot award this afternoon at Motor Action Sports Club.

PSL chief executive, Kenny Ndebele, will hand over the award to him.

Benza scored two goals and still emerged as the competition’s top scorer.

He missed one of the matches through suspension.

The 21-year-old has been the mainstay of Herentals although he failed to inspire them to lift the trophy in the final.

They lost 0-1 to Bulawayo Chiefs.

Benza is his father’s club’s first player to make the Castle Lager Soccer Stars of the Year list since they ventured into the top-flight league in 2018.

The PSL awards are slated for tomorrow.

Many are tipping either FC Platinum’s Walter Musona or CAPS United’s William Manondo to take home the big prize.

Dynamos’ Frank Makarati, Highlanders’ Divine Mhindirira and Nelson Chadya of Ngezi Platinum Stars are in contention for the runners-up places.

Meanwhile, Black Rhinos are set to host their awards today.

Striker Ellie Ilunga is likely going to be recognised as the club’s player of the season.

He is also the only Chauya Chipembere player on the Soccer Stars’ list.

Defender, Gareth Madhake, who recently joined Dynamos, is also up for the club’s top prize.

Ngezi Platinum Stars are also hosting their awards today.

It will be interesting to see who will win the team’s player of the year award between keeper, Nelson Chadya and striker, Delic Murimba.

Chadya kept 19 clean sheets and Murimba scored 13 goals.

They both made it onto the Soccer Stars of the Year list.

Murimba is also the only player to score four goals in a match in the just-ended campaign.
