TINO’S NEPHEW PROMOTED

DYNAMOS have promoted Tino Kadewere’s nephew, Obey, to their senior squad.

Obey is the son of Tino’s late brother Prince.

The 18-year-old caught the attention of DeMbares’ scouts, while playing for the club’s developmental side, in Division Two.

It was at Obeys’ age that Tino was deemed surplus to requirements at the Glamour Boys.

As fate would have it, Tino has since been jumping from one European club to another.

And, two weeks ago, he became the first Zimbabwean to sign for a Spanish top-flight side.

Considering Tino’s connections, Obey might make an early European breakthrough.

He stressed to H-Metro that he was desperate to make full use of the opportunity handed to him by Dynamos.

“It has always been my dream to be associated with Dynamos and it’s a blessing, a big opportunity for me to prepare myself for the future,” said Obey.

“It has challenged me to push myself to the limits and I believe it’s the beginning of something great.

“I’m happy and grateful to be training with experienced players, they have been helping me a lot.

“I want to thank the technical team for the trust they have shown in me,” said Obey.

The forward said he owes his career to his late grandfather, Onias, and late father Prince.

Onias is also his middle name.

The late Onias, was a driving force in the development of the Junior Football League.

His father, Prince, passed away at a time he was beginning to gain ground in coaching.

“My late grandfather and father inspired me to take this path through their relentless passion for football.

“I’m going to try my level best to make them proud.

“It’s something which also motivates me to keep my head up.”

He hailed the impact and role Tino has played in his life.

“Tino has always motivated me in and outside football life.

“He has taught me to believe and have confidence.

“With what he has achieved at his age, it will be my own loss if I’m to look for advice elsewhere.

“My dream is to play in Europe.”

Before joining the Dynamos development side, Obey went through the ranks of Highfield Academy and Harare City juniors.
