MUSICIAN Tocky Vibes is set to bankroll a tournament that will feature 16 teams from his neighbourhood in Rugare tomorrow. The tournament dubbed “Toti Toti”, and named after his latest album, will see the teams being placed into four pools with winners progressing to the quarterfinals, semi-finals and then the finals. Winners are set to walk away with a floating trophy and a $500 prize money.
The musician said the tournament was meant to support and promote community rehabilitation programmes. His manager, Elvis Bokosha, said they had done all the groundwork for the inaugural tournament.
“Toti Toti Super Cup is an initiative aimed at promoting and supporting community rehabilitation programmes. “This is a pilot project for Tocky that was planned with an aim to give back to Rugare, the community he was raised in.
“This tournament will see all 14 teams in Rugare participating and two guest teams from Sunningdale gracing the event (Downsons and SDA Sunningdale). Tocky believes the tournament is not centred on the cash prizes but on the bond between him and his community, his passion for the community that raised him,” said Bokosha.
