TOJEY Blox has an affinity for South African artistic talent and amidst xenophobic tensions in the neighbouring country, the “Power” hitmaker is summoning musical power to preach peace.
In an ambitious move that bridges regional divides, the local artiste is aiming for the stars by launching a high-profile digital campaign to secure a collaboration with South African hip-hop heavyweight, Cassper Nyovest.

The initiative has quickly gained massive traction online, turning a personal musical dream into a viral movement for regional unity.

Last week, Tojey Blox posted a series of videos on social media asking Cassper Nyovest to lend his voice to one of his upcoming projects.
The response from fans and the general public was instantaneous. The videos went viral, triggering an avalanche of tags from social media users determined to catch the South African rapper’s attention.
Speaking to Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, a thrilled Tojey Blox opened up about the overwhelming online reception.

“I just posted the videos asking Cassper Nyovest to lay his vocals on my upcoming project and I’ve been amazed at the love and engagement I have gotten from the videos. They have surpassed the 300,000 mark in just a week and now, we wait on Cassper to respond,” he shared.
The choice to pursue the, “Phumakimi” hitmaker was far from random.
A mutual, digital respect had already been brewing between the two artistes prior to this public callout.
“Since last year, he has been showing me love on Twitch through shoutouts and I thought to myself, ‘Why not use this opportunity to ask for a feature with him?'” Tojey Blox explained.

However, the motivation behind the track runs much deeper than just securing a star-studded feature.
For Tojey Blox, music is a tool for diplomacy and healing.
“The idea is to re-unite Zimbabwe and South Africa given the xenophobic tensions these days, and I know he’s an influential figure and my aim is to spread peace and unity.”
This is not the first time Tojey Blox has looked across the Limpopo River for artistic inspiration and connection.
He has never hidden his admiration for South African talent, previously interacting with seasoned actress Dawn Thandeka King.
Furthermore, history has shown that Cassper Nyovest is highly receptive to Zimbabwean hip-hop talent.
In 2015, while visiting Zimbabwe, Nyovest heard the late Luveve rap king Cal_Vin’s track, “Z’khuphani” on ZiFM Stereo.
Captivated by the sound, Nyovest took to X (formerly Twitter) to declare, “This Zikhupani joint by Calvin is my sh**.”
That single post birthed the iconic, “Zikhupani Remix,” a monumental cross-border collaboration that shook the Southern African hip-hop landscape and elevated local rap to international platforms.
Could Tojey Blox be the next local rapper closing in on a collaboration with the Maftown sub-genre pioneer?
The blueprint has already been set, the public demand is undeniable, and the message of peace through art is timely.
Only time has all the answers, but now, the gauntlet has been thrown Cassper Nyovest’s way and the waiting begins. – Follow on X @MbuleloMpofu
