ARMY side Tongogara will hope to end their two match winless run when they travel to Gweru for a date with unpredictable Gweru City in a Zifa Central Soccer League fixture at Wilson Fields today. Tongogara came back empty handed in their last visit to Gweru after going down 0-1 to MSU and a fortnight ago the army side drew 1-1 with ZRP Beitbridge, a result which saw them relinquish top position to correctional services side, Whawha.
Ignatius Kapitapita, the army outfit gaffer, said they would be coming to Gweru to collect maximum points.
“We are going there for a win. I know we have not been posting favourable results of late but every team goes through a lean spell. However, with the experience in the side I am confident of turning things around,” he said.
Gweru City will not be pushovers and coach, Jeremiah Neganda, has vowed to spoil the party for the visitors. The Gweru side now lies fourth on the log standings with 22 points from 12 matches after they were awarded three points for their game against Chomumvuri Pirates who have been expelled from the league for their failure to settle affiliation fees in full.
