Too Open invades Holly’s Hotel tonight

Nhanhanga (lead guitar), Owen Shamu (bass guitar) and Lloyd Chidikano (drums) — has greatly improved since the formation got into the music sector some few years ago.
And to prove that they are on top of their game, the outfit becomes one of the first groups to play at Holly’s, which is now under new management.
Revellers at the show should expect fireworks, according to Nhanhanga.
“Whenever we perform, we always strive to give our fans a mixed bag of entertainment hence our diversity of styles ranging from jazz, traditional, gospel to reggae,” he said.
Apart from their own music — which includes two albums “Zororo” (2004) and “Still Alive” (2011) — Too Open also play renditions of songs by famous musicians from classical to reggae music.
Those who love music by legendary musicians Thomas Mapfumo and Oliver Mtukudzi should expect surprises from Emmanuel Gora, another member of the group who plays plug tracks by these artistes, alternating with Thomas Marimbika, who does reggae versions.
“Holly’s Hotel has been one of Harare’s leading places, until business went down.
“However, we expect business to pick up because it is now under new management.
“We are also looking forward to hosting regional shows, where artistes from different countries will have                an opportunity to showcase their talent.
“Our own local artistes will get an opportunity to entertain people,” said Bright Chipidza, the entertainment manager of Holly’s Hotel.
