TOOTHLESS, HELPLESS, HOPELESS, CLUELESS, LIFELESS, GLAMOURLESS. . . The shocking statistics of DeMbare’s crippled attack

THE three leading sources of goals for TOOTHLESS Dynamos are defender Kevin Moyo, Ghanaian Emmauel Paga and the PSL disciplinary boardroom.

Moyo, who takes Dynamos’ penalties, has scored three goals, which is the same number of goals Paga has scored, in what has been a very poor season for the Glamour Boys.

DeMbare also received three goals from their abandoned league match against Chegutu Pirates.

The match was abandoned when Zaire protested against the referee’s decision to rule that a last-gasp effort by defender, Donald Dzinyai, had crossed the line.

So, the grim reality is that Dynamos have scored only 16 goals, on the football field, in the 22 league matches they have played all season.

It’s probably the worst statistics, when it comes to goals, by a DeMbare side in this club’s illustrious history.

This translates to an average return of 0.7 goals per game.

CAPS United forward William Manondo took his tally to 10 goals when he scored the winning goal in the 1-0 victory over FC Platinum at Rufaro on Sunday.

Manondo broke away from Yadah’s Khama Billiat and Tymon Machope of Simba Bhora, who have scored nine goals apiece, during this campaign, in the race for the Golden Boot.

Let’s try to put all this into focus:

· This means that the entire Dynamos team, all season, have scored just SIX more six goals, on the field of play, than what Manondo has done as an individual.

· That the sum of the goals contributed by the three main sources at Dynamos – Moyo, Paga and the PSL boardroom – gives us nine goals and that will still fall short of the ten goals which Manondo, as an individual, has scored.

· That the sum of the goals contributed by the three main sources at Dynamos – Moyo, Paga and the PSL boardroom – gives us nine goals and that is the same as the nine goals which Machope, who only started playing in the PSL in July last season – has scored in this campaign.

· That Billiat and Machope, with a combined 18 goals this season and in second place in the race for the Golden Boot, have scored more goals than the entire Dynamos team have scored on the field of play.

· That when we add the goals scored by Paga and Moyo we will still realise that their combined tally of six is not more than what Takunda Benhura and Never Rauzhi have scored as individuals.

· That Godfrey Mukambi of Herentals and Gift Mwinga of Chegutu Pirates, have scored four goals apiece and no player at Dynamos has matched their tally so far.

· That the only clubs Dynamos have outscored, if we consider only the goals from the pitch, are ZPC Kariba (12 goals), Chegutu Pirates (13 goals), Arenel (12 goals) and Hwange (12 goals).
