Top acts billed for Chinhoyi

Other artistes who are scheduled to perform are Jah Prayzah, Mathias Mhere and gospel group Chiedza Chavatendi.

So far, Sulu and his Orchestra Dendera Kings are sitting on top of the world and they can safely claim to be the best.

Good times are indeed rolling for the dendera maestro and those who thought he was riding on his late father’s coat-tails have been proved wrong.

With just four albums up his sleeves, Sulu has steadily built a firm following as well as maintaining the dendera legacy.

Collaborations
Not only is Sulu keeping the music alive but he is also re-inventing the genre through collaborations.
He has done collaborations with the likes of Jah Prayzah, Shinsoman, Jean Masters and superstar Oliver Mtukudzi among others

The “Sean Timba” hitmaker has grown to be his own man and is enjoying a purple patch in his career.

The line-up also boasts Zimbabwe’s finest musicians with Jah Prayzah being another man to look out for.

Unlike other top musicians in the country like Suluman Chimbetu, Tryson Chimbetu, Peter Moyo and Morgan Dembo, Jah Prayzah has no musician father to look up to. His music is constantly evolving and like wine he is maturing.

Jah Prayzah is expected to belt out his hit tracks that include “Gochi Gochi”, “Maria”, “Chirangano” and “Sungano”, among others.

The award-winning musician is expected to sample some of the songs off his latest album “Tsviriyo” that was released on March 27.

Diaspora

Songs such “Sisiriya”, that features superstar Mtukudzi, and the title track “Tsviriyo, have been sending fans into frenzy at live shows in the last few months both at home and in the Diaspora.

Not to be outdone is rising gospel sensation Mathias Mhere. Ever since the release of his second album, “Minana,” the pint-sized musician has become one of the most sought-after gospel artistes in the country, thanks to his mega hit “Favour”.

It, however, remains to be seen how gospel musician Mhere will fare.
Probably one of the best gospel musicians to emerge in recent times, Mhere has made his presence felt on national galas.
