STUART Krog, David Amm and Jack Allard will represent Zimbabwe at this year’s Eisenhower Golf Championships in Ireland after they booked their place through some qualifiers at Royal Harare on Sunday.
Krog will be making his second appearance at the tournament, formerly known as the World Amateur Golf Championships.
Amm was the first to qualify after he scored 18, 40, 14, 18 and six for a total 96 points to be the first to book his place while Allard had 25, 35, 14, one, and 20 points for a total 95 points.
Krog, who missed out on the first pre-qualifying tournament, used his experience to open with 35 points in the Matabeleland Amateur Championship before scratching ten points, 18 and 12 points for a total 75.
Tafara Mpofu finished fourth on 16 points as Kieran Vincent was fifth.
Three players are entitled to represent the country at the bi-annual tournament that draws at least 72 countries, 132 players and 10 000 spectators.
Vincent, who is back in the country from his base in United States, has already written to the Zimbabwe Golf Association as he tries to get a slot on medical grounds.
The former Chapman players had some back problems and did not participate in some of the qualifying rounds and feels the golf mother body should consider his plight.
Meanwhile, Royal Harare will host this year’s edition of the Zimbabwe Ladies Strokeplay this weekend.
