A TOUGH reunion awaits ZPC Kariba boss Rodwell Dhlakama when his troops go into battle against his former side Ngezi Platinum Stars on Saturday.
The two clubs will clash in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Baobab.
ZPC Kariba have had an inconsistent season and are still not yet completely clear of the PSL relegation battle.
They are four points off the drop zone, with six games remaining this season, and a win in Mhondoro will ease their fears.
The optimism garnered by Dhlakama’s counterpart, Takesure Chiragwi, from his previous four games, has revived their top four hopes.
Chiragwi is on a mission to make it four wins on the bounce.
He registered his third at the expense of Dynamos in Harare on Sunday.
A Ngezi source said the club leadership were contemplating giving the former Shabanie Mine mentor the job full-time.
Dhlakama parted ways with Madamburo just three games into this season under unclear circumstances.
He revealed that three of his key players were set to miss this fixture through suspension.
“It’s going to be a tough game for us considering that we are playing probably the team-of-the-moment while we have a wounded squad.
“Ngezi Platinum Stars have a youthful squad and they are likely to give us a lot to think about.
“Most of our players have hit the twilight of their careers but we are going to try our best to salvage, at least, a point,” said Dhlakama.
