Rutendo Nyeve, Victoria Falls Reporter

A body of an unidentified tourist was spotted floating in the Zambezi River near Victoria Falls on Wednesday morning.

Authorities believe the individual may have fallen from the Zambian side of the iconic waterfall.

While official details remain limited, sources say Zambia’s Department of National Parks and Wildlife has urgently engaged Zimbabwean river and tour operators to assist in the recovery operation.

It is understood that two separate hotels, one in Zimbabwe and another in Zambia, have reported a missing guest, though the identity and nationality of the deceased have not been confirmed.

The incident comes as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by the fast-flowing waters of the Zambezi around the Falls, a popular tourist attraction that draws visitors from across the globe.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death, and more details are expected to follow.
