AFTER being named among the 11 Soccer Stars of The Year, Highlanders vice captain Andrew “Tower” Mbeba says he is feeling on top of the world.
The country’s best X1 were voted for on Tuesday, with their crowning ceremony slated for December 5.
“I am absolutely thrilled and profoundly humbled to confirm that I have been officially voted as a finalist for the prestigious Castle Lager Soccer Star of the Year award,” wrote Mbeba on his Facebook page.
He added: “This nomination is more than just personal recognition; it is a powerful testament to the hard work, sacrifice, and collective spirit we demonstrated throughout the entire season. To be recognised alongside some of the best talent in Zimbabwean football is an incredible honor that I don’t take lightly. To the fans, the coaches, and the media voters: Thank you. Your faith, relentless encouragement, and the votes you cast have made this achievement possible.
Seeing my name on this shortlist is the ultimate motivation to keep pushing boundaries and striving for excellence on the pitch.

Mbeba was voted for alongside Dynamos defender Emmanuel Jalai, Scottand duo of Kevin Moyo and Tymon Machope.
Simba Bhora trio of William Thole, Emmanuel Ziocha and Isheanesu Mauchi also made into the list.
There were also places for FC Platinum midfielder Jarison Selemani, MWOS duo of Billy Veremu, Moffat Aboubakar TelOne forward Washington Navaya.@FungaiMuderere
