Toyota Zim gives cheer to cancer children

Herald Reporter
Toyota Zimbabwe last week hosted a Christmas party for 35 children with cancer at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals. A company official, Mr Simplisio Shamba, said the gesture was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme.“We should not neglect our children who are living with cancer,” he said.

“The corporate world should reach out to the less privileged children because they need both moral and financial support. They are the country’s future leaders who need care and support.”

Apart from Christmas goodies, Toyota Zimbabwe also donated office chairs and a computer to the children’s cancer ward.

Mr Shamba said children suffering from cancer should be supported and given better care and treatment.

The company’s customer relations manager Mrs Charity Nhira said the plight of children with cancer was heart-rending, adding that there was need for a collective spirit to support them.

Hospital spokesperson Mrs Jane Dadzie thanked Toyota Zimbabwe for holding a Christmas party for the children.

“We are thrilled with the support we got from Toyota Zimbabwe. This has given our children so much joy and happiness,” she said.
