adminthis week, Toyota Zimbabwe parts manager Mr Alois Kadonzvo said the new concept was aimed at bringing convenience to customers while at the same time, eliminating delays associated with sending vehicles for services or minor repairs at traditional garages.
“Our mobile workshop enables us to reach wherever our customer is. So instead of customers bringing their cars to our physical garages, which are normally associated with delays, we are now able to fix their cars wherever they are. We have the ability to provide all the services a typical automotive garage may offer. This will save our customers the hassle of having to drop off and pick up their vehicle from a workshop,” he said.
The mobile workshop is a truck fully equipped with electronic grinders, compressors, oil dispensers, pumps, tools box, injectors cleaners, grinding machine and two generators among equipment.
Made made in Japan, the unit is based upon a Toyota Dyna truck. It is equipped to the same level with a normal ground-based workshop.
Fully trained technicians capable of performing all services operate the workshop.
Mr Kadonzvo said several companies have already shown interest in the concept.
