THE traditional leadership in Buhera has hailed Government for implementing development projects through devolution that are set to transform the district.
Speaking during a stakeholders meeting hosted by Zimbabwe Heads of Christian Denominations (ZHOCD) at Muzokomba High School last Friday, the traditional leaders said they are fully behind Government’s devolution agenda that seeks to leave no place and no people behind in the development matrix.
They hailed the devolution programmes for cascading to the grassroots.
The traditional leaders said the Government-funded Emergency Roads Rehabilitation Programme (ERRP) is changing the face of Buhera District.
Headman Tinoziva Chimombe said: “We want to thank Government for spearheading development programmes through devolution funds. The communities are reaping the benefits. As the local traditional leadership, we are ready to play our part to ensure the success of all projects being implemented under devolution.”
Headman Solomon Muchandibaya said having villagers on the same page regarding developmental issues is critical in ensuring progress and success.
ZHOCD Manicaland coordinator, Mr Rabson Muchuchu said they will continue engaging communities to promote social cohesion and civic participation on devolution and development issues.
“Communication is key in implementing development programmes. Involving local communities, the traditional leadership, councillors and legislators well help in achieving the development goals set by Government,” said Mr Muchuchu.
