Atletico, Juve & PSG interested in Tapia

Celta Vigo midfielder Renato Tapia is the subject of interest from Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain – according to AS.

All three clubs are weighing up summer moves for the 25-year-old, whose current contract at Estadio de Balaídos is not due to expire until 2024.

Tapia has already racked up 24 appearances across all competitions for Celta in 2020-21.

Pochettino eager to lure Lloris to PSG

Mauricio Pochettino is eager to lure Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to Paris Saint-Germain – according to Football Insider.

The Argentine had a close relationship with the French shot-stopper at Spurs, and wants to arrange a reunion at Parc des Princes.

Lloris has made 23 Premier League appearances for Tottenham this term, but his current contract is due to expire in 2022.

Costa in talks to join Palmeiras

Diego Costa is in talks to join boyhood club Palmeiras – according to Sky Sports.

The 32-year-old has been out of contract since terminating his contract at Atletico Madrid last month.

Palmeiras have offered Costa a two-year deal worth €2.5 million, with a deal set to be finalised in the coming days.

PSG made Casemiro enquiry 

Paris Saint-Germain made an enquiry for Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro last summer – according to Marca.

The French club were eager to sign the 28-year-old, but the Blancos made it clear he was not for sale.

Madrid are planning to keep Casemiro on their books until at least the end of the 2022-23 campaign

Arsenal close in on Sporting striker Tomas

Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Sporting CP striker Tiago Tomas – according to The Sun.

The Portuguese club may be willing to let the 18-year-old leave for as little as £20 million ($28m) in the summer.

Arsenal are already in talks with Sporting over a final transfer, with Tomas likely to move to Emirates Stadium at the end of the season.

Ex-Chelsea & Milan forward Pato signs for Orlando City

Former Chelsea, AC Milan and Brazil striker Alexandre Pato will line up at Orlando City for the coming season, the MLS side confirmed on Saturday.

Pato, 31, was available as a free agent after cutting ties with Sao Paulo during 2020.

Once tagged as one of the world’s most promising talents, his move to Florida is another chance to kick-start a career which has stalled since he first burst onto the scene in Brazil and Italy.

Argentina legend Batistuta has offer to coach in MLS

Former Fiorentina and Argentina idol Gabriel Batistuta has received an offer to coach at an MLS club, reports Ole.

It would be Batistuta’s first job as head coach, although the 52-year-old spent two years at Colon as the Argentine club’s director of football between 2011 and 2013.

‘Signing of the season’ – Martinez shines again for Villa

Emiliano Martinez almost single-handedly preserved a point for Aston Villa on Saturday by making nine saves in a scoreless draw against Brighton.

Martinez was sold to Villa by Arsenal for £20 million ($26.2m) over the summer and has since been in the form of his life, suggesting his former club may have let him go too easily despite the presence of quality first-choice shot-stopper Bernd Leno.

Villa’s goalkeeper has kept clean sheets in three of his past four appearances – including one against the Gunners – to help his side into eighth place in the Premier League table. He has recorded 12 clean sheets on the season.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has managed a calming of tensions with Sergio Ramos over the veteran club idol’s future, reports ABC.

Ramos is out of contract in June, and is said to be considering leaving Madrid as talks over an extension have made little progress.

Manchester City the ‘perfect fit’ for Messi

Pablo Zabaleta has urged his former international team-mate Lionel Messi to consider a move to the Premier League with Manchester City.

“If Lionel Messi ­decides to leave Barcelona and he wants to play in the best league then he has to experience the Premier League for himself. It is something that will ­interest him – because every player I know always asks me what the Premier League is like,” Zabaleta told the Mirror.

“And Manchester City offer the ­perfect conditions.”
