Top American gospel artiste pastor Travis Greene’s concert lived up to its billing, as revellers got the value of their money at the just ended show dubbed the “Shift revival concert 2022”, which was held on Saturday at the Celebration Centre in Harare.
One could see and feel the worshipping vibe which engulfed the auditorium.
Revellers were deep in praising mood and the American artiste and pastor did not disappoint, as he dished out song after song, keeping his fans on their feet.
Before it was announced that pastor Travis Greene and the Forward City were coming to the stage, the whole atmosphere in the auditorium changed, he then took about 10 minutes preparing his instruments, however the audiences who were anticipating for action as started singing his songs.
It was like they were doing Karaoke yet there were no lyrics on the screens proving just how much this show meant to them.
This was Travis’s maiden performance.
At the same event during Takesure Zamar Ncube’s performance he asked all Zimbabweans to pray for the nation as he was performing his song titled, “Komborerai Zimbabwe.”
He then asked Apostle B Java to come on stage and pray for the nation ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Apostle Java declared and decreed that peace and tranquility will prevail in 2023, he went on to cover all the Government ministries in the blood of Jesus and the state house, so that God protect these institutions and guide them accordingly. He prayed for the economy to flourish and said that all will be well in 2023.
Local gospel artistes also proved themselves on this concert as they put scintillating performances.
Minister Michael Mahendere got on the stage, by the time his bio was being displayed on the screens, the crowd was already shouting his name.
From there as he was given his four minutes count down, the crowd started singing two of his songs, they first sang, “I am the salt of the Earth,” then, “Makanaka Jesu,” it was just an emotional moment as the whole conference centre was singing in anticipation.
Minister Michael Mahendere came to the stage ready, and performed songs such as, “Mhanyira Kuna Jesu,” “Tangai neni,” “Makanaka Jesu,” among others, as the crowd joined him and his live band in praise and worship.
Another gospel artiste whose presence was felt was Psalmist Hubert C.
He literally connected with the gospel audience and lead them in deep praise worship.
He showed serious vocal prowess so much that everyone just loved him, you could hear whispers from the crowd as they agreed that he was the man to take gospel music to the future.
He performed songs like, “Latter rain,” “Flood gates,” “Alpha and Omega,” “No one like you,” and “In your presence,” on this song he was joined on stage by Minister Michael Mahendere who sang his heart out as the crowd screamed in celebration.
Then came the woman who opened up the celebration conferencing center for Set-up events to officially host this show, Pastor Bonnie Deuschle and the celebration church choir.
They also gave a great performance, taking fans down memory lane as she dished out songs like,”Tambira Jehovah,”.
They also took advantage of the platform and gave Tembalami a popular gospel artiste a chance to lead as he performed some songs with the celebration church choir.
The hosts of the show were radio personality Yvonne Tivatye and Jefferson Muserera, who did a great job, as they kept the audiences involved between acts. In the crowd was Star FM’s Steve Vickers and his wife, Mudiwa Hood, Pastor Prince Mafukidze, Mr and Mrs Manyowa and Pastor B Java, among other respected personalities in the gospel fraternity.
It was announced that the Shift revival concert will now be an annual event as the lord spoke to the organisers that he will be using this gospel event to usher the winds of change in the lives of the people of Zimbabwe.
