Mutero said that he impressed Wits coach Roger de Sa but the Clever Boys gaffer could not immediately sign him because his side has already exhausted its quota of five foreign players for this current season.
“My trials here at Wits have finished and they went really well. I want thank God for his presence and comfort at all times.
“The team wants to sign me but because of the foreign players thing, I will sign with them for the start of next season and that’s definite.
“On Monday next week, they (Wits) are having a meeting to discuss about my budget and my contract and everything so I’m flying back to Zimbabwe on Saturday (today) and will be going back to England to keep fit with a Premiership team that I’ve been training with since I left Reading FC,” Mutero said.
The 18-year-old striker’s two-week trial stint with Wits was facilitated by former Zimbabwe centreback Alex “Mr Cool” Maseko who has got some strong links with the South African Premiership side.
