GIANT-KILLERS Triangle are back in the capital, just five days after winning the NetOne OneWallet Cup, and hoping to derail the championship challenge of ZPC Kariba in the Castle Lager Premier League tie at Gwanzura this afternoon.
Triangle are in high spirits, after beating the champions, and believe they can also beat a Kariba side that handed them a lesson, in a 1-5 thrashing, here in the reverse fixture of the tie.
Young Triangle defensive linkman, Tichaona Chipunza, who was outstanding against DeMbare, believe this is their time to shine.
“We have prepared very well for the Kariba game, it is a completely different game from the one we played on Sunday but the coaches have equipped us with a bag of tactics and the right mindset,” said Chipunza, whose team will be cheered by DeMbare fans, as football continues to show its funny side, today.
“We have been struggling but I believe this is our time to shine and get the required results. We might be in a dangerous position on the log but we are all optimistic of getting results and climbing up the ladder.
“We lost to the same opposition earlier in the season but we are now a different side with more determined personnel and that will definitely help us to fight and revenge.”
Triangle will have to be at their best to stop a ZPC Kariba side who have enjoyed a good run of league form.
The visitors will be boosted by the return of exciting midfielder Brian Juwayeyi and Hardlife Mavhundi who missed the Cup final through injuries.
But a lot of eyes will be on Triangle winger, Hillary Bakacheza, who was outstanding for his team in their win over DeMbare.
ZPC Kariba striker Limited Chikafa, who once played for Triangle, was the hero when his team beat Bosso 3-1 in their last match.
“Tomorrow’s game is a new game,” said Chikafa.
“We are second and they are just one place away from the drop zone. I am a striker and I scored one past them and I am definitely looking forward to continue doing my job and helping the team win.
“I don’t have much to prove to my former paymasters but I got a lot to prove to the football fraternity because I believe I still got a lot to offer.”
