‘Trigger-happy’ teenagers were wearing camouflage

Taylor Cameron (19) and his 17-year-old friend armed themselves with two rifles and wore camouflage jackets before allegedly firing at motorists in Avondale.
Cameron stays in Kensington while the 17-year old boy lives in Eastlea.
Acting in connivance, the two allegedly hid in a ditch between trees at the intersection of Leopold Takawira Street and Cork Road and shot at motorists passing through the robot controlled intersection.
The two were not formally charged when they appeared before Ms Anita Tshuma, who remanded them out of custody to August 8.
As part of their bail conditions, Ms Tshuma ordered them to surrender their passports, to report twice a week at the police station and not to interfere with witnesses and investigations. Mr Chris Mhike of Atherstone and Cook is representing them.
Prosecutor Mr Tungamirai Chakurira alleged that on July 21 the teenagers connived and hatched a plan to shoot at motorists passing through the intersection.
