Trio caged 125 years for 19 violent robberies

THREE men have been slapped with lengthy sentences for a string of violent robberies committed in Victoria Range, Masvingo.

Vusumuzi Bhebhe (20), Yasin Joseph (21) and Never Simbakurasha conducted a robbery spree between 9 to 15 January 2025.

Armed with deadly weapons, including machetes, iron bars, and catapults, the accused individuals carried out a series of violent robberies against multiple victims, stealing various valuables and attempting to commit murder.

In an official statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said, Bhebhe was sentenced to 95 years bars and 20 years were suspended meaning he will serve 75 years.

“The second and third accused persons were sentenced to 125 years, of which 50 years were suspended for 5 years thus will effectively serve 75 years,” said the NPAZ.
