THREE men have been slapped with jail time after they were caught with zebra meat in Kwekwe.
Nyasha Musariri (28), Lovemore Kusena (35) and Tinashe Mukuza (34) were sentenced at the Kwekwe Magistrates
Court after being found guilty of unlawful possession of the meat.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), detectives pounced on the trio on 4 August 2025 at Dunlop area near Kwekwe.
“They failed to produce a permit allowing them to be in possession of the meat,” the NPAZ said in a statement.
Musariri and Kusena each got 10 months in prison, with 5 months suspended. Mukuza received 10 months, with 6 months suspended.
The NPAZ said it remains committed to prosecuting environmental crimes and urged the public to respect wildlife laws.
“Together, we can safeguard Zimbabwe’s natural heritage for future generations,” the statement read.
