A 14-YEAR-OLD boy was kidnapped while fetching water in Chitungwiza before being dumped in Mahusekwa.
The teenager was kidnapped by three unidentified men, who were driving a black Toyota Quantum, last Wednesday.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckson Chakanza, confirmed the case.
“On Wednesday 8 June, around 0800 hours, the boy was fetching water at a borehole in Unity N, Chitungwiza, when he was approached by three men who were driving a black Toyota Quantum with an unknown registration number.
“One of the men grabbed the boy by the neck and dragged him to the vehicle while the other one covered the boy’s head with a cloth, then injected him with an unknown substance on the neck and he became unconscious,” said Inspector Chakanza.
He added: “The boy then gained consciousness the same day by the roadside, in an unfamiliar place.
“He asked a passer-by where he was and was told he was in Mahusekwa but he then narrated his story and got help to get to the police station.
“He was later taken to Chitungwiza Hospital for medical examination.”
Police are still investigating the matter.
