DENDERA musician Tryson Chimbetu says he took 13 years to write his new single, titled ‘‘Tuta.’’

It is already generating excitement among fans of this musical genre.

The song was officially launched last week.

It has attracted attention on YouTube, with listeners praising its catchy rhythm and strong brass instrumentation.

Speaking to H-Metro, Tryson described the release as a major step in reviving the traditional Dendera sound and reconnecting with his fans.

“I returned and launched your traditional Dendera music, with a missile of a song called ‘Tuta’, surprisingly, it has already become a thriller on my YouTube account,” he said.

“I wrote this song in 2013 and finished it now in 2026.

“This is just a drop of my eighth album, which is coming out soon. Charles Ibeki was my producer, myself and my son-in-law, the husband of our sister called Saiwe, played the guitars.”

The musician also revealed that the song features the work of veteran saxophonist Philip Svosve.

“Congratulations to the Dendera music world because Zimbabwe’s grandfather of the brass section, the saxophonist who played and recorded with Thomas Mapfumo and the Blacks Unlimited, James Chimombe, Safiriyo Madzikatire Mukadota and many others, Father Svosve, promised me a brass addition to my music and it has thrilled the world of Dendera music fanatics,” said Tryson.

Fans have begun sharing their thoughts on social media, with many praising the song’s production and Tryson’s signature vocal delivery.

One fan, Hugh BaAndre Chinhengo, wrote: “Good balanced song, especially the saxophone was well done, Sekuru Dhimba.”

Another listener, Tungamirah Tungah, said:

“Good song Dr Neroo, ndakatoiisa pa repeat kutaura kudai.”

Tryson is being managed by journalist and arts and culture strategist Takawira Photoveteran Unlimited Nyashanu Dapi.

“Congratulations to everyone who stood by your talented Tryson Chimbetu, your Sekuru Dhimba.”
