IN a significant stride by the Second Republic towards its commitment to health service delivery and ensuring universal access to healthcare, Tshitatshawa Clinic in Tsholotsho, Matabeleland North Province, is set to be officially commissioned tomorrow.

This underscores the Second Republic’s commitment to decentralising and improving health services across the nation, thus ensuring that its philosophy of “leaving no one and no place behind” is effectively realised.

Minister of State for Matabeleland North Provincial Affairs and Devolution Cde Richard Moyo will preside over the ceremony as the Guest of Honour.

The new facility is expected to alleviate the burden on distant health centres, providing a wide range of primary healthcare services, including maternal and child health, outpatient consultations, and health education.

This initiative is part of a broader Government drive to enhance healthcare infrastructure and ensure equitable distribution of services, particularly in rural and previously underserved areas.

The commissioning of Tshitatshawa Clinic comes just days after President Mnangagwa conducted an impromptu visit to two hospitals in Harare, reinforcing the Government’s acute focus on the State and accessibility of public health institutions nationwide.

President Mnangagwa’s direct engagement with healthcare facilities highlights the top-level commitment to addressing challenges and accelerating improvements in the sector.
