However, the 31-year old striker has been training with CAPS United during the week and would go and play for Masvingo United in the Zifa Eastern Region league during the weekends.
Tsipa, whose presence in the set-up is meant to inspire the club spirit to the new generation of players in the team, was being assessed by the coach Taurai Mangwiro and his backroom staff and they seem impressed.
CAPS United chief executive, Joe Makuvire, yesterday confirmed to The Herald that Tsipa was on his way back to the club that catapulted him to stardom in the last decade.
“We arrived at the decision with the main objective being that he is a good player and that he is also a club legend.
“We need to preserve the culture and the DNA of the club so we should have a reflection of that with some of our products like Tsipa whom we believe is capable of doing well,” said Makuvire.
While Tsipa is making a comeback, midfielder Pride Tafirenyika is on his way out as he has been off-loaded after the Harare giants chose not to renew his contract which expired on June 30.
The Green Machine are also set to release former Monomotapa forward Joseph Mutambiranwa, goalkeeper Winston Chiwetu is also lined up for a loan deal while Keith Chikotora who was loaned at Masvingo United will be re-assigned to Premiership side Black Rhinos.
CAPS United are now finalising the registration of Malawian teenage forward Gerald Phiri, Benson Maglasi and 19-year olds Hadmin Muchiso from Mwenezana and Munashe Chimbetete from Aces Youth Academy.
Striker Muchiso has been on trials for the past three weeks while the young leftback Chimbetete has also impressed the coaches.
CAPS United are currently fifth on the log table and, with just four points away from the leading team Harare City, they cannot be ruled out of running for this year’s championship following a steady progress under Mangwiro.
The Harare giants last won the title when they achieved back-to-back success under Charles Mhlauri in 2004 and 2005.
“We are aiming to revamp and build a base for next year’s campaign. That is why we have also brought in youngsters like Phiri, Muchiso and Chimbetete who are still in their teens.
“As CAPS United have long term objectives,” said Makuvire.
Meanwhile, CAPS United midfielder Hardlife Zvirekwi has landed himself in trouble with the club’s management for the comments he made over the ill-tempered tie against Highlanders which ended 0-0 at Barbourfields at the weekend.
Zvirekwi told The Herald on Monday that he felt the Harare giants were given a raw deal by the referee Philani Ncube and his assistants.
“We are extremely disappointed by the utterances made by Zvirekwi because it’s the club’s policy that players should concentrate on playing football and commenting on issues in line with his duties on the field of play,” said Makuvire.
“He is not qualified to make such comments, neither is the coach nor anyone in management. All we do as a football team is to play football and whether we win or lose we have to shake hands with everyone at the end no matter how the match officials performed their duties.
“It’s part of the excitement and let the supporters and everyone else debate over that.
“We have no interest as a team as to how referees should be evaluated. It’s the mandate of Zifa and the panel of referees to evaluate and make comments on match officials. So as a club we apologise to the concerned match officials.
“It’s been happening in football that referees have been criticised. Highlanders raised the same issues when we played the first leg and we are saying if they feel that they were cheated, we have had a similar scenario in the past and we settled it in England although we lost.
“So what we can do is that we can have a challenge match anywhere in the world if they want. I think that is a better way of settling the disputes than blaming referees. I will talk to the Highlanders chairman about that. I am sure we can find sponsors for the match.”
CAPS United will be travelling to Hwange this Sunday in what appears to be a tricky assignment as they seek to shore up their campaign.
