Gospel group Tsuri Yedenga has been performing in different functions among them church services and weddings.
The overwhelming response Tsuri Yedenga has been getting at the events over the past months has inspired the group to record an album titled “Dai Jesu Matura Mutoro”.
The group last released an album in 2009 and the growing popularity has sent them back to the studio.
One of the co-leaders of the group, Joseph Maswela said they are looking forward to bright prospects.
“We formed the group in 2003 together with my friend Amos Mawire in Zvishavane but honestly we never thought we would go this far,” said Maswela.
He said they searched for talented people until they first released an album in 2009 titled “Mwari Arwadziwa”.
“It was not easy because we have been working on a number of issues since the beginning of the project and that was the reason for the delay in releasing another album,” he added.
“For all these years, marketing our projects was a major problem but with the help of these functions we are getting exposure.”
They are working on the new album which carries eight tracks.
“We are in the studio currently and we are working on an eight-track album that reflects our improvement in these past years,” he said.
Another co-leader Mawire said they are ready to perform at all functions but work strictly by doctrines of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
“We are open to share stage with all gospel artistes but we go by church values,” he said.
Some of the group members are completing their studies at Midlands State University.
“We have some members who are working on their studies but our work is not affecting them and in the event that they are away for studies we can work with those available,” said Mawire.
The group has 15 members.
