The show will be at the newly opened up market car fitment and entertainment centre, Autoworx.
The gig which has been dubbed Tuku birthday “Warm up Bash” will be his second in the country since his return from the tour of the US.
He performed in Bulawayo two weeks ago.
In an interview, Autoworx promotions Chief Executive Officer, Oswald Mashonganyika said everything was now in place for the birthday warm up bash which he said would be a memorable gig for Kwekwe residents.
“Tuku has just been from an international tour and we have decided to organise a warm up bash before his 60th birthday bash,” he said.
Mashonganyika said Tuku has promised his fans from across the Midlands province some fire works.
He said the warm up gig was also meant to attract fans from the Midlands province to attend his 60th birthday bash to be held at the Glamis stadium on 21 September.
“This is a must attend gig for the Midlanders because Tuku is raring to go. He has promised his fans a polished performance as he seeks to lure fans for his milestone birthday bash a week from now,” he said.
Mashonganyika said Tuku deliberately chose to have his birthday warm up gig in Kwekwe which is his wife, Daisy’s home town.
“Tuku’s wife, Daisy is from Kwekwe and the two have business interests in the gold mining city and their choice to have a birthday warm up gig in Kwekwe is deliberate,” he said.
Tuku will be supported by Terry and the Bliss Band and Munya Mataruse.
The music superstar who has 60 albums to his name is turning 60 on 22 September.
Tuku started singing in the early 1970s and his first album, Ndipeiwo Zano was released in 1978.
Since then he has continued churning out more albums and is arguably the country’s most celebrated musician
