“The performance is our way of luring the leisure audience to our hotel since we are currently benefiting from the business audience. We are looking to explore other avenues by inviting the living legend to this side of the country,” Kwidini said.

“We always have an overwhelming response when Tuku comes over and this year we have Steve Chikoti to give variety to the show. After they both finish, we have a surprise old school deejay who will spin the decks the whole night until the next morning,” she said.

Tuku performs every year at the golf tournament that takes place twice a year. The superstar will charm his fans in Nyanga this June and later on in the year for a summer tournament.

Fresh from his two-month overseas tour, Tuku who is expected to kick off his local shows sometime this week, is one of the few local musicians who has a musical product that has stood the test of time and continues to be sought after locally and abroad. A guitarist of repute, vocalist, performer and composer, he has got over 50 albums to his name from the time he ventured into music in 1977 when he joined the Wagon Wheels.

Now, along with his own band The Black Spirits, his appealing voice, captivating guitar rhythms and superb dance moves make his live performances really fantastic to experience. His fans should look forward to some of the songs that include “Watitsvata”, “Dande”, “Wakoromoka Awa”, “Todii” and the old time classic, “Hosanna”.
