TV LEGEND JOHN PHIRI GETS US$500 SHOPPING PRESENT

LEGENDARY Zimbabwean TV presenter, John Phiri, known for the shows Ezomgido and Mutinhimira weMumhanzi, was recently handed a US$500 shopping voucher from OK Zimbabwe in Glen View.

The gesture underscores the giant retailer’s deep appreciation for Phiri and his contributions. 

The Trolley for Trolley Challenge, a community-driven initiative by OK Zimbabwe, has significantly impacted the Glen View community, bringing joy to local shoppers and fostering a stronger bond within the neighbourhood.

Phiri, a revered figure in Zimbabwean broadcasting, is best known for his work on the popular ZBC shows Ezomgido and Mutinhimira weMumhanzi. 

The recognition comes at a crucial time as Phiri has recently faced health challenges following a stroke that affected his speech. 

The voucher presentation on Saturday was a heartfelt tribute to his enduring legacy on the Zimbabwean media landscape.

Phiri remains a loyal customer of OK Zimbabwe, frequently shopping at the OK Makomva branch in Glen View.

This long-standing relationship strengthened OK Zimbabwe’s resolve to honour a cherished partner.

The weekend’s events not only celebrated the lucky winners of the Trolley for Trolley Challenge but also paid tribute to a broadcasting legend, reaffirming OK Zimbabwe’s commitment to its community and heritage.
