Giant forward, Tinashe Balakasi, has now taken his goal tally for the season to 25

He scored FIVE goals in Simba Bhora’s 6-3 hammering of Chinhoyi Stars in the ZIFA Northern Region Division One matches at the weekend.

Balakasi has now scored 25 goals in 25 assignments at an average of a goal per game.

His five goals saw him surpassing the Northern Region’s record of 22 goals, scored by Kasimero Chimbadzwa, who was playing for ZRP, in 2014.

Tomorrow, Simba Bhora will invade the fortress of their rivals, Golden Eagles, for a showdown which could decide the championship race.

The Shamva side now leads the league table by one point from the Young Students.

The Eagles edged Cam & Motor 2-0, at the weekend, to remain just three points within touching distance of the leaders.

Banket United held their own at Kuwadzana to settle for a goalless draw against Herentals Under-20.

The Young Students gaffer, Paul Benza, who is recovering from a ruptured patella tendon, did not travel with the team.

Trojan made a good case for a top four spot with a 2-0 victory over Come Again in Bindura.

They are now just three points off the fourth spot.

Black Mambas beat Pam FC 1-0 to remain in the top four.

Ngezi Under-19 got the better of Kevin Togaraseyi’s Harare City Cubs 1-0 at Baobab.
