TWINS Association of Zimbabwe (TAZ) on Saturday led its members for a tour of the New Parliament Building in Mt Hampden.
TAZ patron and legislator, Caleb Makwiranzou led more than 100 sets of twins and triplets to the August House where they were taken for a tour of the lower and upper houses.
Among the twins taken for a tour were from Zambia and Mozambique.
Farai Lawyer Katonha and his identical twin, Tendai Mayor Katonha, told H-Metro soon after the tour their wish for twins and multi-birth representation in Parliament.
“We feel humbled to be accorded chance to tour our beautiful New Parliament Building.
“Among the twins with us here today include a traditional village headwoman, who lost her twin.
“Zambia and Mozambique twins face the same challenges with us so as the continent and beyond.
“In celebrating International Twins Day, we wish to have a representation in Parliament.
“Twins and multi-birth parents face some challenges that will never be addressed if guardians of law do not unlock some of the areas hindering their success.
“We have been impressed by the big attendance comprising guests from the region.
“Some people are yet to understand the challenges being faced by twins and multiple birth parents who need support.
“Allow me to thank Hon Makwiranzou, Prophet Freddy, Taugan Music, NetOne, and event planner Helen Mutizamhepo, among others, for supporting TAZ for a successful celebration,” said Katonha twins.
