TWO brothers from Nyamandlovu, one of them an injiva and their juvenile friend, have appeared in court on allegations of fatally assaulting a fellow villager at a beer drink.
The injiva, Tobias Ncube (22), his younger brother Clearance (19) and the juvenile aged 16, all from Tshisa Forest area in Nyamandlovu, were not asked to plead to the alleged murder of Mr Never Sibanda.
Bulawayo magistrate Ms Gladmore Mushove remanded the Ncube brothers in custody and advised them to approach the High Court for bail.
The juvenile was remanded in the custody of his parents in Nyamandlovu and was ordered not to interfere with witnesses and to report at Nyamandlovu Police Station every Friday.
The trio would next appear in court on 11 September.
The State alleges that on 11 August, Clearance and the juvenile had a misunderstanding with Mr Sibanda while drinking beer at a local bottle store.
The court was told that the owner of the bottle store ordered the three out of his premises and the alleged assailants who were now joined by Ncube, waylaid Mr Sibanda away from the business centre.
The trio allegedly assaulted Mr Sibanda with fists and also kicked him all over the body until he became unconscious.
Mr Sibanda was rushed to Mpilo Central Hospital where he died 12 days later from the injuries he sustained following the assault.
Mr Sibanda had told villagers before his death that he had been attacked by Ncube, Clearance and the juvenile.
The trio was arrested as Ncube was preparing to escape to South Africa.
Mr Kudakwashe Jaravaza is appearing for the State.
