A road traffic accident claimed two lives and left 30 injured yesterday when a CAG bus carrying 50 passengers hit the tailboard of a Hino truck and overturned.
The accident happened on the 30km peg along the Gokwe-Siabuwa road.
“A CAG bus with 50 passengers on board hit the tailboard of a Hino truck with six passengers on board resulting in the Hino truck veering off the road to the left before overturning and landing on its wheels.
“Subsequently, the bus veered off the road before overturning and landing on its roof,” police said in a statement.
The bodies were taken to Gokwe District Hospital for a post mortem while the injured were taken to the same hospital.
