A 36-year-old Waterfalls man was arrested on Friday for allegedly raping a Grade 4 student.

Isdore Tendai Kamusunda is alleged to have lured his neighbour’s young daughter into his house and raped her twice.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the arrest and urged parents and guardians to closely monitor their children.

“On September 9 at around 6pm, the accused person called the girl into his house.

“He locked the door and produced a knife, threatening to kill her if she screamed, and raped her.

“He further threatened her not to disclose the matter to anyone.

“The accused person then released the girl and she never disclosed the matter due to fear.

“On September 11 at around 7pm, the accused person called the girl into his room and raped her again without protection.

“One of her friends noticed some behavioural changes and questioned her, and she revealed the matter leading to the arrest,” said Insp Chakanza.
