A HARARE woman is pleading for help to pay school fees for her two children who are said to be exceptionally bright.

Rudo Masomera said she had been struggling to make ends meet since she lost her job last year.

Despite her financial struggles, she has been working hard to ensure her children remain in school, but she says she is now stuck.

“I was a maid in Emerald Hill, but I lost my job when my employer returned to her country and since then things have been tough for me.

“My employer had realised the potential in my kids and enrolled them at St John’s Emerald Hill School where they are now doing Form Three and Form Four.

“Registration fee is due next Friday for the one doing Form Four, but I cannot afford it,” she said with teary eyes.

The Cambridge registration fee is £950.

She also has school fees arrears of US$6 000. Masomera’s kids have consistently come out top of their classes every term.

“I am proud of my children, they have worked so hard to get where they are today, but I fear that their dreams may be shattered because of my inability to pay their school fees.

“The school has been tolerating and helping me, but the main issue now is registration fee.

“I have tried vending, but I cannot raise all the money.

“I am appealing to the nation and I am willing to work anywhere to raise fees for my kids,” she said.
