TWO men appeared in the dock yesterday to answer charges of unlawful entry into a Mabelreign house.

Elijah Chimunye and Kudakwashe Antonio were released on $20 000 bail each when they appeared before Harare magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure.

They will be back in court May 5.

The State said on February 17, Gerald Mufaro Bera noticed that thieves had broken into his house.

A Samsung television set, HP mini laptop,  Samsung Galaxy A73 cellphone, Tecno Spark 5 cellphone, three men’s belts, a G-shock wrist watch, Calvin Klein boxed perfume, Georgio Armani perfume, a monarch, sneakers and several clothes, were stolen.

He reported the matter to the police.

Tinashe Sifeku was found using the stolen phone and was arrested.

Sifeku implicated Chrispen Majasi, who had sold the phone to him.

Majasi told the police that he was given the phone by Israel Mutedza to sell it on his behalf.

Mutedza also told the police that his brothers, Antonio and Chimunye, had given them the phone.

However, Chimunye and Antonio pleaded not guilty by claiming that they actually paid US$240 for the phone to someone only identified as Lazarus.

They said they only met him when they bought the phone.

Zebedia Bofu appeared for the State.
