Two injured by stray animals

Kariba Bureau
AT least two people have been injured here, while property has been destroyed by animals including an elephant and a baboon.

A 16-year-old girl, Neily Kapanga, sustained a deep gush on her right thigh after she was gored by an elephant which had knocked down a cabin in which she was sleeping with her mother.

The elephant broke down the cabin in Nyamhunga suburb before eating a bagful of maize.

Neily and her mother fled in terror but the elephant managed to gore the girl with its tusk before neighbours rescued her.

In the second case, an 11-year-old boy sustained a deep gush on the hand after being bitten by a baboon in the same suburb.

The area borders a bushy wildlife habitat.
