Two liberation war heroines die

TWO Zanu-PF cadres Cdes Patricia Mohadi and Georgina Nkomo, both from Matabeleland South Province have died. They have since been declared liberation heroines. Cde Mohadi, who died on Sunday, comes from Beitbridge District and is the younger sister to Zanu-PF Politburo member and Minister of Home Affairs, Cde Kembo Mohadi.

Cde Nkomo died on Friday last week and is from Plumtree.

Zanu-PF National Secretary for Administration Cde Didymus Mutasa yesterday confirmed the conferment of heroine status on the two cadres yesterday.

“His Excellency, the President and First Secretary of Zanu-PF, Cde R G Mugabe, has conferred liberation heroine status on the late Cde Mohadi who died on 20 October 2013 and the late Cde Nkomo who died on 18 October 2013,” said Cde Mutasa.

Cde Mutasa said the families for the two heroines could be contacted through the Zanu-PF Matabeleland South provincial offices.
He instructed the provincial leadership to make arrangements for the burial of the two cadres and payment of benefits to their dependents.
