Boy killed in scotch cart accident

A seven-year-old boy died on the spot when an ox-drawn cart he was travelling in hit a tree stump and overturned. Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the incident occurred on Sunday evening along a strip road, 10km away from Nembudziya Business Centre.

“The circumstances are that the now deceased boy, Willie Mutambara and a relative, Panashe Kadzviti (12) were travelling in a an ox-drawn cart on their way home from a grinding mill when the cart overturned.

Panashe jumped out of the cart before it overturned but Willie died on the spot when he was crashed by the cart,” he said.
