TWO minors died on the spot following a hit-and-run incident by an unknown motorist while crossing the road.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Police said: “The incident occurred on Monday along Bulawayo Road near Whitehouse, Harare of which the motorists did not stop after the accident.”
The motorist with vehicle registration number AFX 5897 did not stop after the accident.
The bodies of the victims were taken for post-mortem to Sally Mugabe Hospital mortuary.
Police appealed for any information that may led to the suspect’s arrest.
“ZRP Warren Park is investigating a hit-and-run road traffic accident that occurred along Bulawayo Road near Whitehouse, Harare on 02/10/23 in which two minors died. A motorist driving an unknown motor vehicle with vehicle registration number AFX 5897 hit the two minors who were crossing the road and he did not stop after the accident.”
“Both victims died on the spot and their bodies were taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital mortuary for post-mortem. Anyone with information to report at any nearest police station,” reads the statement.
