TWO TEAMS, TWO DIFFERENT PATHS

TWO teams, which are on a highway to different destinations, champions Simba Bhora and former champions Dynamos, clash in a Castle Lager Premiership match at Wadzanai tomorrow.

Odds favour the hosts to reclaim the championship. They are leading this race with 40 points in 20 games. The same odds have also indicated DeMbare could be RELEGATED.

The Glamour Boys need at least eight wins in their last 14 games to maintain their Castle Lager Premiership slot. Some experts are suggesting that Dynamos have a one percent chance of playing Simba Bhora again next season at this venue.

It is difficult to imagine Dynamos walking away with a full set of points against the champions.

The champions are unbeaten at home all season. Joel Luphahla’s troops have scored 10 goals in their last six games and have netted 26 times in total. Dynamos have the worst goal-scoring record in the league as they have only six goals to show this season.

Simba Bhora have to donate 20 goals and 25 points just for them to be on the same level with Dynamos at the moment.

DeMbare have won just two league games this season, one of them against Simba Bhora.

They floored the champions in a Castle Challenge Cup and in match day four of the Castle Lager Premiership.

Luphahla appears to struggle against Dynamos. But, the good thing is that Lloyd Chigowe, who bullied him in those two fixtures, is no longer with Dynamos as he was replaced by Saul Chaminuka.

Simba Bhora vice captain Webster Tafa will make his 89th appearance for the miners tomorrow. Tafa is yet to miss a fixture for the champions since they made their debut season in the 2023 campaign.

“We want to win this match for our fans because hosting Dynamos at this venue remains a dream come true for everyone in Mashonaland Central.

‘‘Dynamos remains a big club despite what they are going through and we can not afford to take them for granted because they are a good team,” said Tafa.
