UGANDAN referee Lucky Razake Kasalirwe is set to take charge of the Warriors’ 2027 Africa Cup of Nations away qualifying match against Sierra Leone tonight.
Kasalirwe will be assisted by fellow Ugandans Ronald Katenya as first assistant referee and Emmanuel Okudra as second assistant. Compatriot Dick Okello will serve as the fourth official.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 9pm Zimbabwean time at the Ben M’Hamed El Abdi Stadium in El Jadida, Morocco.
Sierra Leone have opted to host Zimbabwe in Morocco since they do not have a CAF approved stadium in their home country.
Zimbabweans are curious as this will be the first match in charge for new head coach Ramon Catala who was appointed last month.
For Leone Stars, the match will also mark Didier Gomes Da Rosa’s first competitive game as head coach since his appointment earlier this year.
The encounter will also be a historic one, as Sierra Leone and Zimbabwe have no previous senior men’s international meeting on record.
Both teams will be looking to progress from Group E that also includes Equatorial Guinea and Democratic Republic of Congo, who play at 6pm.
