TEEN midfield sensation Sean Fusire has officially pledged his international future to Zimbabwe.
He has snubbed England and thrown on the green-and-gold with pride!
The 19-year-old Sheffield Wednesday starlet sealed the deal at the Zimbabwe Embassy in the UK, where he met ZIFA’s Diaspora chief Marshall Gore alongside his proud father.
“We are thrilled to announce that Sean Fusire has officially committed to represent Zimbabwe,” Gore posted on Facebook, confirming the Warriors have bagged another gem from the diaspora.
Fusire, who joined Wednesday’s academy at the age of nine, is highly rated at the English club. He broke into the first team squad in 2022 during their Papa Johns Trophy clash against Leicester Under-21s — and has been on a steady rise ever since.
The commitment follows Coach Michael Nees’ UK scouting tour, which aimed to reel in top Zimbabwean talent abroad.
“A big thank you to the Fusire family and embassy staff for their support. Our football heritage is rich, and I am committed to driving initiatives that elevate our game,” said Gore.
With Warriors fans still buzzing from teenage prodigy Shane Maroodza’s pledge, Fusire’s decision adds more firepower to Zimbabwe’s youth-driven rebuild.
From Sheffield to Zim, the boy is coming home!
