BRITISH Expert Alex Lambeth will in the next few weeks draft a report on last week’s visit to Zimbabwe by a British trade team, which could result in an influx of British investors into the country depending on the outcome of the report.
In a statement on the conclusion of the visit, the British Embassy in Harare said the report would be launched both in the United Kingdom and South Africa for the former’s firms operating in both countries which may be interested in doing business with Zimbabwe.
“This week’s mission has represented the start of a process. As the next step British Expertise will draft a report on the mission in the coming weeks, which will be launched in both London and South Africa to interested UK firms and investors,” reads part of the statement. There may be indications that the report could be a positive one after Lambeth, who led the trade mission, expressed his optimism for future trade and investment: “The visit’s been a success. The firms were impressed at the range and quality of the opportunities on offer, and the clear and consistent message from the public and private sector that Zimbabwe is open for business.”
This was the first British trade delegation to Zimbabwe in 20 years. —BH24
