A nine-member delegation of United Nations Ambassadors has expressed profound awe and excitement over Zimbabwe’s breathtaking beauty and the warm hospitality of its people, describing the nation as a beacon of peace in a major shot in the arm for the country’s tourism sector.
The Ambassadors, who are on a familiarisation tour hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, touched down in Victoria Falls on Monday morning.
After visits to the Great Zimbabwe Monument and various sites in Harare, the delegation immediately headed to the Rainforest to witness the majesty of the Falls before embarking on a sunset cruise along the Zambezi River.
The tour comes as Zimbabwe actively campaigns for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council (UNSC) for the 2027–2028 term, seeking to enhance its global influence and represent African interests.
The bid is strongly endorsed by SADC, the African Union, and nations including Russia and Cuba, with a focus on multilateralism and peace.
