UN reaffirms commitment to data-driven sustainable development at Harare workshop

The United Nations has reaffirmed its commitment to using data as a catalyst for sustainable development, with the UNFPA representative in Zimbabwe Ms Miranda Tabifor, highlighting the transformative role of evidence-based planning.

She was speaking at the ongoing Monitoring and Evaluation workshop in Harare, held under the theme “Strengthening Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Towards Equitable Development for a Prosperous and Empowered Upper Middle-Income Society by 2030”.

“The United Nations is deeply committed to harnessing the power of data as a transformative enabler to achieve Sustainable Development Goals by 2030,” she said.

“This commitment is anchored in the UN Secretary-General’s landmark data strategy for action by everyone, everywhere for insight, impact and integrity.”

The event brings together key stakeholders focused on driving Zimbabwe’s development agenda through data-informed policies.
